PARIS: FW13

picks from Paris Fashion Week. Can't get enough of these three...

Haider Ackermann FW13

Huge. Fan. Always find this sort of magical hard/soft, masculine/feminine balance from Ackermann that presents a certain aesthetic that I really feel + relate to. This season was ooon. point.
The look was rough but strong; not without the power shoulder he perfects every season. Haider's woman does not need direction or take orders from anyone. She is effortlessly who she is.
This was a collection with obvious military influence. The details were everything : Shearling jackets with strong collars played along with the belted trend, yet maintained a uniqueness that didn't feel overdone. My current favorite pant shape was done in different fabrics + textures (favorites were the chocolate croc print and metallic printed trouser) that fit perfectly-imperfectly into the stupidly cool zippered boots.

Stella McCartney FW13

Stella (!!!)
This was a feel good collection from start to finish. I absolutely adore what the Stella woman represents. The pieces she sent down the runway were a clean, easy, no-fuss freedom. McCartney is confidence. There are few collections where the models look proud + powerful walking down the runway, and this is hands down one of them. In my obvious/overstated current love for menswear it's not hard to see why my jaw was pretty much on the ground as I clicked through looks. The platform motorcycle boot is a prominent trend of Fall 2013 and I don't hate it (at all!)
Aaand this cashmere sweatsuit? I mean. I just can't help it.

Givenchy FW13

This collection.
Rock n' roll gypsy with a hard feminine edge. Riccardo Tisci describes his fall 2013 season as "one of the most fun collections I've done in my career." The colors, shapes + textures expressed exactly that. This was a passion project from Tisci + easily one of the most exciting collections of Fall 2013. The details were hypnotic.
Florals found life in tough motorcycle jackets + fell into flowing gypsy skirts. The streetwear side of Givenchy remained strong in oversize sweatshirts + bomber jackets tied around the waist. Florals, plaid, lace + (my favorite from Resort 13) patchwork told a story of a rebellious romance. Some of my highlights were the black, long-sleeve jumpsuit, floral bombers, (always love the) graphic sweatshirts +  motorcycle jackets with just enough detail.
+ can we have a quick moment of silence for miss Erin Wasson slaying her head to toe patchwork...

MANY MEN

manly + minimal.

 Emmanuelle Alt by Garance Doré/ Marni Pre-fall 2013/ Sandro Spring 2013 Campaign/
Zara February 2013 Lookbook/ Kate Moss for rag & bone Spring 2013/ Topshop Spring 2013 Campaign/ Kasia Struss for Exit Magazine FW 2012/ Céline Pre-fall 2012 -- Easily one of my top favorite collections of all time. I never get sick of looking through these pieces. Phoebe Philo's masculine simplicity is so refreshing, I find something new to love every time (!)

Some pieces I'm craving :

1. Zara Bermuda Short 2. Zara Two-Tone Trousers 3. Asos Navy + Black Pant

 4. Céline Blazer 5. H&M Men's Linen Blazer 6. Stella McCartney Blazer
